Strength to Strength

Strength to Strength
He laid down beside her
And whispered her name
Caressing in tenderness
Her soft, slender frame.
And he heard her sigh
As she pulled him near
Settling against him
In her own little sphere.
They said no words
As they rested in peace
Just quietly waited
For a bad day’s surcease.
And soon they were calmed
From tensions of the day
For in each other
Their worry defrayed.
With peace came fresh joy
For the love that they shared
And for weariness gone
With time and sweet prayer.

To find peace and rest in the person you most trust shouldn’t be taken for granted. Your poem is a reminder of the love we should give each other. Two joined as one – complete.
